We are a group of adults and agree to behave honestly and responsibly.
We will use common sense and maturity when involved in gameplay matters.
We understand the spirit of the rules is more important than the letter of the rules, and that story and fun will always be more important than mechanics. But we will not use this spirit to dodge rules.
We will be honest with all storytelling staff and other players at all times, treating one another with respect.
We will make the games a safe and welcoming community. Harassment or discrimination of any type is not tolerated. We adhere to all applicable laws when involved in gameplay matters.
Actions during game functions that violate the law may be grounds for disciplinary action as well as appropriate legal action.
We agree that real weapons, stunts, blood-drinking and any other activities staff deems likely to cause physical harm are not allowed at game functions – safety is always first.
We will keep all physical contact minimal, consensual, and non-sexual in nature and only with permission.
We will not cheat, meta-game or otherwise undermine the authority of the storytellers or the rules.
In addition to the current Code of Conduct, our local troupe members and any visiting players agree to abide by the following policy:
As we are responsible players, our Bad Form policy encourages our players to question or otherwise raise concerns to other players when they believe a player is engaged in an activity which we might consider Bad Form on the field.
These things include but are not limited to:
In addition to redress through an ST (if they're more comfortable with that), we've encouraged our players to pull the offending party aside or call them out and say something like:
"Hey, Bad Form, let's get back into character." or "Are you sure your character would know that? Isn't that Bad Form?" or "Bad Form, don't touch me."
If the situation requires more than a polite request, it should be referred to a ST.
Recognition for story-focused role-play will be announced at the beginning of each game or online. There will be a slot in the downtime submission form to nominate players and explain why they deserve to be recognized and encouraged for positive story contributions. The idea and hope is to counteract negative bleed associated with story setbacks and social/physical character consequences by offering positive encouragement to the player for the memorable story they have given their time and talents to provide for everyone’s enjoyment.
Suspensions and bans will await players who ooc threaten, bully, harass other players with clear attempts to benefit ICly. This includes ooc threats about ic consequences for ic choices. Or pushing players to do or not do specific things ic. Mocking fellow players for any reason is not acceptable. Tantrums, fits, and negative reactions on the field will also not be tolerated. There is nothing about LARP sessions that cannot be handled like reasonable and mature adults and this expectation will be enforced. The overall fun of the game will not be compromised by a desire to have a large attendance. We understand players may need to vent about game or one another, but doing so in a semi-public manner is grounds for disciplinary action. Always bring concerns to staff for resolution. All previous bans from local staff are likely to be upheld, please ask staff if there are any questions.
