¶ Character Creation and Upkeep
Characters are created using a standard 30pt build, adjusted based on our XP and Attendance policy which is meant to even the field to some extent, but also recognize the contributions of players who have been with the troupe for some time.
Building your character comes in four steps, with the third being optional:
- Create your character in Yorick (see Step 1 below) using the BNS character creation rules. Also, please see our Rules Adjustments for our local adjustments, including which clans are not allowed for play or are currently capped.
- Fill out the Player/Character Short Form.
- Optional - Fill out the Character Long Form questionnaire.
This can earn you extra Experience to add to your character sheet! Don't miss this opportunity to flesh out your Vampire with a full background. - Message the storytellers, and let them approve your character. Instructions on messaging our staff can be found on the contact-us page.
¶ Step 1: Create your Character
We use the Yorick character builder, which you can find at yorick.lotslarp.org as our resource for building all of our characters. Create an account and log in.
Once you make an account, choose “Characters” to start building your first character
Enter your desired character name (You can change this later):
Start by using the Character Creation wizard, unless you are very skilled with Yorik:
You must add your character to our Troupe in order for the Storytellers to have access and view it. Before you are finished, please use the “Join Troupe” button:
And then, out of the listed Troupes that use Yorick, choose ours:
¶ Step 2: Character Short-Form background Document
The Short Form Character background document is required for your character to enter the field. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete, and will help you flesh out some basic details about your vampire.

¶ Step 3: Extended Background questionnaire
This is an Optional Step, unless you are applying to play an Elder.
So you are an over-achiever, and would like to start the game with 10 extra XP? You want to have a full understanding of what makes your vampire tick? This form goes into much more detail, and you should have a very good understanding of your character's personality and history after completing it. We estimate around an hour to complete this form. Note that you can save your progress at any time by clicking “Next” on the form, and come back to it later.

¶ Step 4: Contact the Storytellers for review
Make sure you are part of the Discord Server, (Join: https://discord.gg/r94YT7eew4) and message the Storytellers that you are ready to have us look over your character for approval. We will review your character, and help work though any questions you have while getting your character ready to play. Once we know who your Vampire is, and have ensured that it is legal to play, we'll approve it and add you to the Who's Who in the Domain.
