We are a group of passionate gamers with a strong background in creating immersive experiences, from designing games , to organizing Megagames, to Conventions such as AVL Scarefest. Together we have over 50 years of combined fascination, love, and admiration for the World of Darkness setting in its many forms. We are excited to launch a new chronicle, bringing both old and new players into that world, in our beloved city of Asheville North Carolina.
It is rumored that Amie is the Overlord of AVL Scarefest, but this can be neither confirmed nor denied. If they aren't the Overlord, they have definitely made some very questionable life choices, as it takes up a good bit of their time each year. Amie is also one half, with Andy, of Sugarbaker Games, the game studio behind the Scarefest Stories kilogame series and I Still Dream of My Father, a single player, card-based RPG wherein you play someone working through the aftermath of a terrible relationship with their father. It's fun! It makes everyone cry!
Amie has been playing RPGs since they were ten, and started running World of Darkness LARPS with Michael Tracey back in 1995. Changeling: The Dreaming is their favorite WoD game for the lore, but Mage is their favorite for the system, but Vampire is definitely best for a bunch of people getting dressed up and playing pretend. If they were to be embraced, it would probably be because a Malkavian said something like, “Yeah, but what do the dreams of trees taste like?” and they were dumb enough to posit a conjecture.
Clara writer, teacher, and ST staff's resident statblock gremlin, Clara can't help it that she begins to vibrate when death is on the line. No, really, she can't help it. It's kinda sad. Her hobbies include a love of mystery novels, roleplaying games, and early 20th century queer novels with all of their depressing endings and misery. You'll notice a trend… Her favorite clan is Lasombra, because she's edgy, but at least she's self aware about this fact. In reality, she'd probably just be a narrowly obsessive Malkavian or a particularly unsuccessful Toreador… Which is incidentally, her deep and abiding nightmare.
If you play this game, sooner or later, you will be subjected to pictures of her cat, Bernkastel.
Michael is a life-long gamer, and lover of the World of Darkness. If you pressed him on what game was his favorite, it would have to be Mage, but if you asked him to run a Mage LARP, he'd run off into the hills. He has years of experience creating events to entertain and engage players, across system and genre, and coming back to the WoD over the last few years to re-emerge himself in the LARP community has been a great joy.
Andy is one half of Sugarbaker Games (with Amie) and is a third of the team behind the Scarefest Stories written for Scarefest each year (with Amie and Clara). He makes the best chocolate chip cookies in the state, he only beat Dark Souls so that he had the credibility to criticize it, and his favorite PFS character became Venture Captain of the Moon upon reaching level 19.
People think he would be a Tremere, he prefers Nosferatu, and his best shot at being embraced is to make contact with a particularly disorganized Ventrue in need of some gantt charts and a decent filing system.
